I just finished this book this evening.  It was a very quick read – I only started it last night and I worked all day.  I'm still deciding how much I liked it (I don't think I loved it as much as Kristie or Emily), but I definitely enjoyed it.  It was very well written and captured the feelings and emotion of the two characters very well.  The book is about a young couple (both virgins) on their wedding night.  Edward is excited but nervous.  Florence is disgusted by the idea of sex.  The book takes us through the night while bringing us back through their lives and their blossoming relationship that led to this night.  The ending was amazing and beautifully written.  This was my first McEwan novel, but I may give his others a chance after reading On Chesil Beach.
