Reading Update January 24, 2008

I feel as though I should be writing more posts about the books I am reading, but that would involve me actually reading books, so I apologize for the lack of reading posts lately.  I promise that after May 3 (or maybe July 30), I will read more and thus write more about my reading.

Middlesex: A Novel

Jeffrey Eugenides

I am currently reading Middlesex.  I've been reading it since the beginning of the month, but don't let the speed with which I am reading it indicate my feelings for it.  I'm really enjoying it.  I love the writing, the story-telling, the interweaving of Detroit's history.  I just can't seem to read more than 20 pages a day, so it may be awhile yet before I finish it.

I am also starting Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope.  I have to read this for my seminar and I thought I might want to get a jump on the 500-page book.  I don't really know that much about it, but I hope I enjoy it.  It seems that my professor has good taste in books (better than last semester's seminar prof), so I have high hopes for it.
